Sustainability

We're all about product end of life and compostability, anything else is just noise and pretending

Consider end-of-life:

Unsustainable products with a dirty end-of life have become a major environmental, health and social concern. Not only have these disposables caused massive damage to our environment and oceans, but they are also incredibly unsustainable too. At Nu, we believe in a structured approach to regulating the materials used in single-use products and a healthy balance between functionality and impact on the environment, creating products that will perform their purpose whilst making as little impact as possible on the environment by the end of the products life.

What is a dirty end-of-life?

A product with a dirty end-of-life will leave harmful and toxic pollutants in the environment once it starts to breakdown. Many ‘oxo-degradables’ have been produced to try to combat this issue however once they have broken down, they leave tiny micro-plastics in the environment which still makes a significant impact on our eco-system. Our environment has suffered at the hands of our dirty disposables for far too long. We believe its time to buy eco-friendly and BTheChange.

How do we provide a clean end-of-life?

Nu designs and manufactures products for the conscious consumer. Nu products incorporate both sustainability and functionality to provide a product that not only meets and exceeds expectations, but also eases the conscience of those wondering how long their disposables will occupy landfill. Nu products are totally biodegradable, using our special GMX material in our products and packaging which weakens the materials over time and speeds up the breakdown of the product meaning it will make the smallest impact possible on our environment, which is why we believe Nu products to be a truly clean end-of-life solution.

We Use Bamboo:

We invested years into developing disposables that are 100% tree-free by predominantly using bamboo, an eco-friendly alternative to wood-pulp. Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants, producing 35% more oxygen and yielding 20x more timber than trees. Its fibre has natural anti-bacterial properties, creating a natural cooling effect on the skin and reducing the risk of uncomfortable nappy-rash for your baby. Our Nu eco-friendly products have been developed to combat the growing issue of environmental unsustainability, so #BTheChange and buy biodegradable at www.nu.today.

Say NO to Plastics:

The plastic that we throw away takes hundreds of years to breakdown and releases toxic chemicals that become carcinogenic when reacting with water. That is why Nu products use alternatives wherever possible. We believe in a sustainable future without the over-use of plastics. To add to the sustainability of our products, we use bamboo instead of wood-pulp, a far more sustainable source of timber.
